Colorburst-OverDrive

ColorBurst Introduces Overdrive

New software merges RIP and Driver putting printers into the fast lane to accurate color

Introducing Overdrive, the newest PostScript RIP by ColorBurst delivering precision color accuracy to inkjet prints at the same high caliber as the award-winning ColorBurst X-Proof. Overdrive has already been recognized among its peers for the finest image fidelity, garnering industry acclaim for color accuracy and image fidelity with six DIMA Shootout awards won at PMA 2010.

Overdrive: At a glance

Overdrive is a straight-forward, queue-based color management workflow tool, PERIOD. Overdrive is not confusing, it’s not over-featured, it’s not overwhelming.

Overdrive performs all of the color transforms OEM drivers can not. CMYK, RGB, Transparency Blending, and Pantone Matching are all performed by Overdrive. The results are proper color matching for all included elements within an entire document regardless of file type, origin, or colorspace.

Overdrive works very well with any printer whose driver allows its color management to be turned off - most notably the latest Epson HDR printers as well as Canon and HP seven color printers among others. For mixed printer platform environments (i.e. Epson and Canon together), Overdrive becomes the single, standardized workflow. This dramatically minimizes mistakes typically made due to driver confusion.

Overdrive: What’s in the name?

Overdrive is a hybrid of sorts; a PostScript RIP that sits atop of a printer’s driver. This one-of-a-kind architecture allows Overdrive to not only furnish the workflow and color benefits of a traditional RIP, it also provides the user with all of the printer-centric driver enhancements making it a best-of-breed workflow tool.
